It takes a bit of learning to set up the device, but once set up - it runs things well. The only gripe I have is that when power is cut off to the unit, even for only a couple of seconds - the time of day requires resetting. All of the other settings are maintained. I use mine to power a heating pad as well as a heat lamp. Lighting and ventilation fan are connected to a timer which runs once a day during daylight hours. Two timer periods are available if required. I like the dimming feature which will apparently extend the life of globes. Thermostat temperature setting covers two periods - useful for day and night heat settings to replicate lower night time temps in the wild.
