The Ortho Mat is an orthopaedic pet bed that features a water-repellent, tear-resistant ripstop canvas cover that is ideal for dogs who like to scratch or nest in their bedding. The reinforced, durable ripstop fabric is also well suited to outdoor patios and weather-prone areas; including parks and beaches, and is effortlessly easy to clean. Simply zip off the cover for easy machine washing and tumble drying.
Inside is a 100mm high convoluted orthopaedic Australian foam insert designed to relieve pressure points and to prolong the health of your pet’s hips and joints. It’s lightweight and allows air to flow, which is ideal for less mobile pets. The foam is treated with Ultra-Fresh antimicrobial treatment, which helps control dust mites and other household bugs that trigger allergies and asthma. It helps keep the foam fresher and cleaner for longer controlling unwanted odours caused by bacterial growth.
The Ortho Dog Mat is versatile and can also be used indoors or inside a kennel or crate, and is especially suited to older or injured pets and those who suffer from hip dysplasia or arthritis.

Ripstop fabric is a durable fabric that is made using a special reinforcing technique that makes it resistant to tearing and ripping. It’s often used in making products for the outdoors such as sails, tents, sleeping bags, flags and banners to name a few. It will stand up well to dogs that are tough on their beds but it is not indestructible. If your dog chews or scratches destructively no soft dog bed will be a match for them.
